Adding Common Observations

Common Observations enable you to quickly record data without having to select a clinical term.

To record an observation:

1. Select a patient and open an encounter, see Searching for a Patient and Opening an Encounter for details.
2. Select Add to activate the dynamic data entry bar, a single letter triggers the data entry form, for example, 'W' triggers common observations beginning with W:

   

   Note - Adding a numeric value, for example, 120/80 for a blood pressure also triggers the entry form.
3. As you type, a list displays, when you have found the required item, select it to add.
4. Select Save to save your entry.
